Israeli occupation forces issued approximately 30 demolition orders targeting Palestinian homes in the towns of Issawiya and Za’im, north of occupied Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Governorate stated in a press release on Wednesday that the occupation forces issued approximately 15 stop-work and demolition orders on Monday, targeting homes built without permits. They also issued 15 additional orders in the Bedouin community of al-Sa’idi in the town of Za’im, east of the city. Among those named were Ahmed Awda Sa’idi, Awda Ahmed Sa’idi, Khaled Awda Sa’idi, and Muhammad Awda Sa’idi.

It added that the notices come in the context of a continuous Israeli escalation against the Jerusalem areas, and within a systematic policy aimed at forcibly displacing the population and emptying the area of its people, and within attempts to impose a new demographic reality that weakens the Palestinian presence in the city and facilitates colonial expansion in its vicinity, and in implementation of the E1 project within the larger project called Greater Jerusalem.
