Today is the ninth day of aggression against the Palestinian people of Gaza. Gaza is an isolated strip of land, called the worlds largest open air prison with 365 km2 or 141 square mile, with a population of 2.3 million and half of them being children.

It is hard to imagine just over 1 week ago that the Gazan people were living their daily lives as normal as can be.

So far, Israel has dropped 10,000 tonnes of bombs weighing. To understand this, there are reports that this is more then what the US dropped in Afghanistan in 1 year oppose to what Israel has in 6 days. Israel has destroyed over 12,000 homes leaving over 400,000 people rendered homeless.

People have been taking shelter in UN buildings and hospitals where they have also been bombed. Furthermore, Israel has used the form of collective punishment for the crimes of Hamas by cutting fuel, gas, water and food supplies, mounting against international law. So if the Gazan people are not be killed by bombs, they are being starved to death.

So far, the death toll has reached 2,329 wounding 9,042 approximately 60% of the injuries occurred among women and children, 700 children killed.

During the weekend carnage, Israel had warned people living in the North of the Gaza strip to evacuate their home to the south. However, as many were leaving over 70 people were killed on the route to the south.

The bombings have been non stop targeting ambulances, journalists and important infrastructures for supporting essential resources to sustain life. Hospitals are on the brink of collapse as they are told to evacuate the entire hospital. 10 paramedics have been killed and 27 injured while 23 ambulances have been destroyed.

The United Nations Rapporteur on Human Rights is that we are witnessing maybe a repetition of the 1948 Nakba and 1967 Naksa on a greater scale. Calling it as an ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and calling for an immediate ceasefire.
